Our Top 5 Favourite Restaurants In Palma, Mallorca

Our recommended gastronomic offerings

We love to authentically recommend restaurants to our clients and so each month the team takes on the tremendously arduous task of trying out Mallorca’s latest gastronomic offerings.

Mallorca has become a real culinary centre for some of Spain’s best chefs and so whether you’re here visiting or have just moved to the island, you’ll need to know where’s good to go. Here are just some of the Palma restaurants we love and think you should head to when you’re next in town.

Just a stone’s throw away from our office on Passeig Born is one of our favourite tapas bars, El Camino. Hidden down a cobbled street, we love this small but stylish eatery which provides all the Spanish ideals of sitting at a long countertop bar sipping cava and eating unique creations of locally produced tapas.

Eddie Hart of London’s Michelin starred Barrafina moved back to Mallorca to open the restaurant and apply his new found mediterranean philosophy of poc a poc. Make sure you try the courgette flowers with goats cheese and the sobrasada spanish omelette.

We’ll be honest, it’s not easy to find really good Asian restaurants here in Mallorca and asian fusion is generally not our thing but BiBap is the exception. Located in the lively little square of placa del mercat, Bibap is predominantly Korean serving the famous Bibap bowls of crispy rice, barbecued meat and kimchi but with additional offerings of really good chinese, japanese and thai inspired dishes too.

What To Expect 😋

The interior decor is asian contemporary or you can choose to sit out on the square where you’ll often find yourself being entertained by talented buskers. Be sure to try the crispy duck with rice, a sashimi platter and of course the soju cocktails.

We especially love this one in the winter months. Tucked away on Carrer Sant Jaume near Jaime III in Palma, this restaurant’s vibe echoes English gentleman’s club with its long bar, cosy dark wood and chandelier lighting.

The menu reflects the ambience with distinct tapas style offerings of small sardines with truffle poached egg or Boletus croquettes to heartier steak and fish dishes. So if you’re in the mood to go a bit underground, prohibition style then this would be our pick.

If you want to get out of the city and catch some Mediterranean sea breeze then the terrace at Hotel Portixol is a must. This stylish boutique hotel sits right on Portixol harbour and is reminiscent of 1920’s french riviera with a modern tilt. The food here is a fresh mix of classics such as Caesar Salad and Club Sandwiches to Prawn Curry and Poke Bowls.

Casually Sophisticated Dining

The Hotel Portixol Restaurant

There is a children’s menu and also a daily ‘Seaside Menu’ which includes three courses. This is one of those places that is casually sophisticated, where you could easily while away the hours without realising.

This is our spot if we want views! Hotel Almudaina has a gorgeous rooftop terrace restaurant where you can have lunch or dinner (we personally love the menu del dia here). There is also the lounge bar with huge windows and views over the city and Palma Cathedral. Palma is full of rooftop bars and restaurants but this is definitely one of our favourites.

Sky Area Restaurant

5 Star Views Of Palma

We recommend trying the Andalusian style squid with Kimchi and lime and the Lobster and cuttlefish rice…but honestly, everything is delicious.
